Mkhitaryan unhappy about Man Utd treatment

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been left 'confused' at Jose Mourinho 's decision to leave him out of the Manchester United squad to face Fenerbahce in the Europa League, according to sources.

Mourinho confirmed the Armenian was available for selection. He has not played for United since the 2-1 defeat to City last month, but The Times reports that the summer signing believes he is fully fit and expressed his shock at being left on the sidelines for Thursday's Europa League clash.

Mkhitaryan suffered a thigh injury playing for Armenia last month and has featured in just four competitive games since signing from Borussia Dortmund.

Speaking about the situation after the match on Thursday night, Mourinho said: "He has to work more to get the intensity and fitness to play at a high level.

“To have him on the bench and give him 15 or 20 minutes like I did to Memphis [Depay], I think it is much better for him to work and wait for his chance, but he is ready very soon.”
