Must Read: Why Man Utd Fans Should Respect Lingard

Jesse Lingard scored his second Man Utd goal of the season and what happened to be his first European goal of his career in the win against Fenerbahçe on Thursday.

Lingard has been one of the most overlooked players throughout his Man Utd career despite his impressive performances for the club.

The Englishman has been used by Sir Alex Ferguson, David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and now Jose Mourinho in various positions and he has impressed. It is high time Man Utd supporters started taking him more seriously because of the following reasons:

1. He scores in Big matches

Everyone knows that Jesse Lingard always scores big goals. Lingard sealed the FA Cup for Man Utd courtesy of a brilliant strike in extra time against Crystal Palace. This goal won the FA Cup for Man Utd which also qualified them for a place in the Community Shield against Premier League champions Leicester City.

Then Man Utd went on to win the Community shield and we all know who scored the opener... Lingard!

Lingard’s fabulous opener in United’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea last term, for instance, helped his side gain a crucial point in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.

He deserves more credit for his crucial goals.

2. He's got a great passion for football

Lingard has a strong presence on social media and he is often criticized of his exurberance on and off the pitch.

The "man who dabs" has a great personality on social media and its great to see a footballer which such passion for the game, isn't it?

To add to this, the attacking midfielder was seen stepping in to defend his teenage team-mate for club and country, Marcus Rashford, during England’s goalless draw with Slovenia earlier this month.

3. He keeps Paul Pogba happy

Pogba and Lingard have a strong friendship which can be traced back to their teenage years in the United Academy.

This is evident in their relationship on and off the pitch. On the pitch, they are usually busy dabbing and off the pitch, Lingard is often seen trolling Pogba in front of their numerous fans on social media.

Cheers!
